McDonald Family Cemetery

From junctions of highways 52 and 17 in Tuscumbia stay on highway 17 towards Eugene, MO. Go for 3.7 miles and turn left onto Saline Road. Go .9 miles to the cemetery, which is on the right and just before you cross a low water bridge. This monument is on the Conservation Commission property.

This is not the actual place where the girls were buried. The body of Amanda, who was 5, was recovered June 8 about 30 miles away in the Osage River near St. Thomas, Mo. The body of her 11 year old sister, Sarah, has yet to be recovered. This tragic accident happened during a flash flood on Memorial Day of 1997. This is their monument.
